About 2 years ago, I began to learn surfing in HK. Very much unlike the pro surfers riding on those gigantic waves, as a beginner, you practise paddling on flat water, learning to carry out yourself and your broad across swelling waves before next one breaking in. It’s difficult for a small size person like me, I remembered my legs tattoo with bruises after each practise. Indeed, all these challenges has triggered my wish to improve on my skills, as well as to experience the sense of freedom riding on the perfect blue water. So I looked into surf teaching school in the search engine, it was the name “Escape Haven” immediately hooked my eyes.
It was a yoga & surf retreat resort camp exclusively for women! What could be better to enjoy a holiday where you can totally awaken your body through yoga and surfing; exhale and inhale in the zen atmosphere of Balinese culture!
I love surfing even though I might be only as a forever beginner but it teaches me how to face the fear and see yourself beyond difficulties. It gave me strength and confidence to tackle challenges in life. Paddling up then falling down, keep paddling…. keep falling…. until the moment you can stand up with such a massive joy! Isn’t like a life journey? Respect the Mother Nature which allow me to recognise how small myself is and how persistence that I need in order scratch myself beyond own limitations.

A warm-hearted note was placed in each of our room in the end of day. This one is my all-time favourite which still displayed in my home till now.
Spending a week this “Haven” definitely was one of my unforgettable trips, it fuelled me with positive energy, inspired me about life by the beauty of Nature and connected deep to my soul.
